5th Day, 10:00 AM
In the bustling city of Metropolis, there was a highly secured vault. In fact, it was so highly secured that no one was supposed to know that it was there. However, the three who arrived on a flying red-and-white bicycle did, in fact, know that the vault was there, and thus were at an advantage over the others there. This was likely to be relevant quite shortly.
Scarlet, Taglumo, and Alexia all soared in the skies, beginning to descend. Alexia was shivering clearly indicating nervousness, and Scarlet looked back at her passengers, feeling a twinge of guilt upon seeing Alexia's emotion. Man... I wish Mac would've told me more about this whole thing, it would've made it less hard to look at Alexia when she's pouting...
"Sc-Scarlet..." Alexia quietly muttered, just low enough that only her and Scarlet would be able to talk. "Are y-you really going t-to go through with this? Y-You could really hurt some people... a-and I don't want anyone to g-g-get hurt, because then i-it'd be my fault."
Scarlet exhaled deeply and looked at Alexia with a blank stare. "Alexia... Honestly, I'll try my hardest to keep you out of harm's way, but you won't stop me from continuing. Things will be a lot easier if you and your friend here just don't make a fuss, and then we can all go home." Scarlet then looked at Taglumo. "Hey, I'm sensing some signatures, is this the place?"
"Well," said Taglumo truthfully, "we're in Metropolis, which is where the Emerald is."
"No way! I had no idea! You're a genius!" Scarlet sarcastically complimented, turning around and giving him a giddy smile before facing forward once again and rolling her eyes. "So is the Emerald in a bank or something? Banks should be pretty easy to break into."
"Taru-Na said it was in a 'highly secured vault'," said Taglumo, "so yeah, probably."
"Let's get going, then," stated Scarlet, and the trio on the Scarlet Cycle zoomed down to the ground, looking for a large and flashy bank or just a bank where Scarlet would be able to sense the signatures.
Perhaps unexpectedly, Scarlet would sense a weak signal through what appeared to be an absolutely normal-looking brick building. Scarlet stopped suddenly, giving Alexia serious motion sickness and making her face turn a little red. Scarlet and the Scarlet Cycle neared the brick wall, trying to see if the signatures got stronger, which they did.
Meanwhile, Taglumo looked at Alexia sympathetically but confusedly, trying to figure out if he could do anything to help her but finding himself unable to figure out any such thing. In the middle of Taglumo's attempt at sympathy, Scarlet looked at him fiercely. "So spill the beans, bub. What do you even want the Emeralds for? Mac told me someone who looks like you is the person responsible for this whole thing."
"Well, I sort of am," said Taglumo. "Except my uncle sort of is too. I mean, there were these Emeralds, and then we—Wait, which part are you asking who's responsible for?"
"Big announcement about how you're going to take over the world?" Scarlet continued to ask, trying to see how someone who seemed so naive would be threatening enough to start this race for the Emeralds.
"Oh right, the announcement!" said Taglumo. "Yeah, I did that part. It's not really relevant any more, though." Then, remembering that he was supposed to be helping Scarlet with probably what he had just disavowed, he added, "Unless it is. I'm not completely sure. Either way, I think we're helping my uncle get them now? That would make sense...I usually wind up doing that." Taglumo then brightened and said, "But usually that's a lot of fun, which means this probably will be too!"
